Privacy Policy

QuestKids is a family app that turns everyday chores and routines into quests. It is built for children but designed to keep parents in control. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Built for families — parents first

A parent creates the family account and sets up each child’s profile. Children do not sign up on their own and cannot make purchases. We rely on the parent’s consent for any information connected to a child’s profile, consistent with children’s-privacy laws such as COPPA and GDPR-K.

We do not show third-party advertising, we do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent personal information — ever.

2. What we collect

Account information

Parent account: email address and password, or the identifier from Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In (name and email you approve).
Child profiles (created by the parent): a first name or nickname, an optional avatar photo, and the chosen character class.

App activity

Quests and routines assigned and completed, in-app currencies (Coins and Gems), streaks, collectible artifacts, and squad membership.
Quest photos: if a child attaches a photo to a completed quest, it is stored so the parent can review and approve it.

Subscriptions

Purchase and subscription status for QuestKids Premium, processed by Apple and our billing provider (RevenueCat). We never receive or store your card or payment details.

Technical

A push-notification token (to notify a parent when a child submits a quest), and basic diagnostic data to keep the app stable.

Screen Time & app limits. If you enable screen-time features, QuestKids uses Apple’s Family Controls / Screen Time framework. That activity data is handled by Apple on your device and is not collected by, or sent to, QuestKids.

3. How we use information

To run the app: create quests, award Coins/Gems, track streaks and collections.
To sync between the parent’s and the child’s views of the family.
To send notifications you asked for (e.g., a quest awaiting approval).
To provide and restore your Premium subscription.
To keep the service secure and fix problems.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that help us run QuestKids, acting on our instructions:

Google Firebase (Google Cloud) — authentication, database, file storage, and notifications.
RevenueCat & Apple — to manage subscriptions.
Apple / Google — if you choose Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In.

We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell personal information.

5. Storage & security

Data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure and encrypted in transit. We restrict access to the information needed to operate the service.

6. Your choices & deletion

Access & correction: a parent can view and edit child profiles in the app.
Delete a child profile from the app at any time.
Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at the address below; we will remove it from our systems.
You can turn off notifications in your device settings.

7. Data retention

We keep information for as long as the family account is active. When you delete a profile or account, the associated data is removed, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
